H2O Seafood Grill in Smithtown

H2O Seafood Grill in Smithtown is just one of many restaurants on Long Island owned and operated by the Bohlsen Restaurant Group, one of the premier groups in the area. Focusing on fresh seafood dishes in a wonderful atmosphere, H2O is doing for the north shore what Tellers and Monsoon are doing on the south shore.

Margarita Grille in Westhampton Beach

With summer winding down we’re only a few weeks away from a quiet trip out east and a return to normalcy in the Hamptons. The village of Westhampton Beach, Main Street, especially, is a great spot to walk around, grab a bite to eat and explore. We stopped by Margarita Grilled recently for a mid-day lunch, sat outside on their deck and watched as pedestrians passed by.

Photo Tour: Queen City Cupcakes in Patchogue

Photo Tour: Queen City Cupcakes in Patchogue

Back in Patchogue’s heyday, Patchogue was known as the Queen City. It was a popular destination for shops, restaurants and hotels alike. Keeping that moniker alive today is Queen City Cupcakes, pulling double duty as a store for home-wares and a bakery with exquisite desserts. We stopped inside to snap some photos to let our readers see some of their wonderful wares and sweet offerings.

Inside and Out: Ruvo in Port Jefferson

Inside and Out: Ruvo in Port Jefferson

While we didn’t see any food during our visit to Ruvo in Port Jefferson, we still wanted to take our readers on an exterior and interior tour of this revered italian eatery on the north shore. Located almost waterfront, Ruvo is an italian eatery curated by the same ownership as their other location in Greenlawn, La Tavola in Sayville and Del Fuego in St. James. The open atrium, bright colors and bar area certainly holds the key to any type of dining experience.

Focus On: The St. James Dining Scene

Focus On: The St. James Dining Scene

St. James is our favorite dining destination on the island for one reason; it’s a small hamlet located in the Town of Smithtown, but in its tiny footprint lays a veritable treasure trove of amazing restaurants in every price range. This is worth a day trip to experience the variety of cuisines as well as the talented chefs that are carving their way through Suffolk. We’ve hit up a few of our favorites to show our readers what lies in waiting for you once you make the trip out.

Quick Stop: The Village Cheese Shop in Mattituck

In the heart of wine country, Love Lane in Mattituck is one of the best little Lanes on Long Island. The Village Cheese Shop is among the highly regarded shops, restaurants and markets on the little strip – one that anyone could walk within a few minutes. We stopped into The Village Cheese Shop to show our readers the shop and their best products; cheese. Continue on for our little photographic tour.

At The Bar: Bulldog Grille in Amityville

At The Bar: Bulldog Grille in Amityville

Stopping into The Bulldog Grille in Amityville not too long ago we were surprised that they were no longer a part of the Lessing’s family of restaurants (they had just been sold), but that didn’t deter us from hopping up to the bar, taking in some football, beer, wings and sliders.
