Great Neck is filled with culinary delights for every budget. While it may be an expensive town to live and play in, it doesn’t always have to be so expensive to eat (although it can be that, too). We’ve compiled a few restaurants that we’ve spoken about on FiOS1 Long Island’s Restaurant Hunter for our readers to check out and enjoy.
Widely celebrated and often pricy, Anthony Scotto Restaurants dominate the upper-echelon of Long Island’s dining scene. Known for their large restaurants and magnificent decor, Scotto is a well respected name. With Rare 650 in Syosset, Insignia in Smithtown and Blackstone Steakhouse in Melville, they’re a staple of the power-crowd.
Where do you go when you’re hankering for some authentic Portuguese Barbecue? Why, you head on over to Jericho Tpke. in Mineola and pay a visit to Churrasqueira Bairrada, of course.
With two locations in Suffolk County (this one in Port Jeff and the other in nearby Hauppauge), Pace’s Steakhouse pulls double duty as a neighborhood gathering spot and a classic American Steakhouse. We touched down at Pace’s recently to take in their wonderful atmosphere and of course, the food.
Dipping your toe into a cuisine that you’re not familiar with is not always an easy thing to accomplish when you hit up a new restaurant. The proper way to do that, in our opinion, is to visit a buffet or an “all-you-can-eat” establishment so that even if you’re not completely satisfied with a portion of the new cuisine that you’re embarking on, you can still get your money’s worth with some other choices at the meal. If you’re looking to try on Brazilian BBQ for size, Picanha Na Brasa in Nesconset is your first stop.
A newcomer to the Northport dining scene back in 2011, J. Michaels Tuscan Steakhouse is located a short drive away from Main Street and the waterfront restaurants that are within walking range to that area. What feels like an old house that has been revamped, J. Michaels is serving up creative italian fare.
Very few restaurants on the island can match the decor and the cuisine of Tellers Chophouse in Islip. Among the world class cuisine that they’re grilling up, the location is like no other on the island. Housed in an old bank, this is the perfect go-to spot for a power-lunch or romantic night out.
Chas. Rothmann’s in East Norwich is known for being one of the best steakhouses on Long Island. Located on the picturesque North Shore, we’ve been heading there for our large family dinners for the better part of the last ten years, so this is a perfect time to share it with our reading audience.
