We’ve covered the St. James dining scene before and within that overview was Kitchen A Trattoria, one of Chef Eric Lomando’s great creations. His reach doesn’t stop there and with so much ground to cover in St. James, Chef Lomando has created a hat-trick of unique dining spaces that have been amazing the locals. Kitchen A Bistro may very well be his most well-known dining spot in St. James and one that has been receiving critical acclaim for years.
St. James is our favorite dining destination on the island for one reason; it’s a small hamlet located in the Town of Smithtown, but in its tiny footprint lays a veritable treasure trove of amazing restaurants in every price range. This is worth a day trip to experience the variety of cuisines as well as the talented chefs that are carving their way through Suffolk. We’ve hit up a few of our favorites to show our readers what lies in waiting for you once you make the trip out.
Owner Joseph DeNicola has hit the mark again (his other Long Island restaurants, Ruvo East, Ruvo West and La Tavola have been pleasing Suffolk crowds for years) with his new location, Del Fuego, in St. James. This tiny area is packed with great restaurants, and this hopping Tex-Mex joint adds just one more to the growing list of reasons that we love St. James.
Chef Eric Lomando is one of the reasons that St. James is known as having some of the best restaurants on Long Island. His dedication to technique, ingredients and service is well documented. With two restaurants located in the small town (Kitchen A Bistro is the other), he’s upped the ante for any restaurateurs looking to get into the game and has created a reason for many residents to drive far distances for some of his fresh cuisine. With Kitchen A Trattoria, Chef Lomando is crafting seasonal italian dishes for all to enjoy.
