You may not know Jack’s Shack in Glen Head but you probably know its owner. Willie Degel, host of the wildly popular Food Network show Restaurant Stakeout and who is also the owner of Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse is calling the shots at this organic fast casual spot and not surprisingly, it’s pretty good.
H2O Seafood Grill in Smithtown is just one of many restaurants on Long Island owned and operated by the Bohlsen Restaurant Group, one of the premier groups in the area. Focusing on fresh seafood dishes in a wonderful atmosphere, H2O is doing for the north shore what Tellers and Monsoon are doing on the south shore.
When Freeport, along with the rest of the island, was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, the damage caused to Hudson & McCoy was enough to set into motion a chain of events that led to Hudson & McCoy to be evicted and a new tenant to come to the table. Enter Hudson’s on the Mile.
Being a great seafood restaurant would be enough for most establishments, but being one of the largest seafood markets in the area as well is taking Southside Fish and Clam to another level. The abundance of seafood pouring through these doors daily is helping to keep prices low and quality way up.
Blackbirds’ Grille may be off of the Main Street area of Sayville, but the two-minute drive to get there from the main district shouldn’t turn you off. There is plenty of parking, plenty of dining choices and a local vibe that is second to none.
One of the best Lobster Rolls that we have experienced on Long Island belongs to a worthy establishment in East Hampton; Bostwick’s Chowder House. It’s a gem on the South Fork and in these summer months, nothing is better than sitting outside in the sun and consuming one of the best around.
Just because the winter weather is arriving doesn’t mean that you have to leave that summertime feeling behind. Harbor Crab Co. in Patchogue is a waterfront restaurant / bar that strives to keep that season going all year long; and from what we’ve experienced, they’re succeeding.
With the weather warming up here on Long Island, this is a perfect time to beat the summer rush and hit a few of your favorite outdoor spots. Jordan’s Lobster Farm in Island Park may not be known to you, but we’ve been relying on their fresh lobster, clams and various other seafood offerings for quite some time. It’s affordable, outdoors and waterfront (there’s indoor seating, too.)
