The long awaited opening of Sydney’s “Taylor” Made Cuisine has finally ended today as they officially welcome their new location to Westhampton Beach. Just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend crush, Sydney’s, which has been a staple of the area since 1989 is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The newly revamped space is a market, restaurant and busy catering operation; a triple threat that will be hard to rival, but delicious to visit.
With summer winding down we’re only a few weeks away from a quiet trip out east and a return to normalcy in the Hamptons. The village of Westhampton Beach, Main Street, especially, is a great spot to walk around, grab a bite to eat and explore. We stopped by Margarita Grilled recently for a mid-day lunch, sat outside on their deck and watched as pedestrians passed by.
On this week’s Restaurant Hunter on FiOS1 Long Island, host Rob Petrone and East of NYC’s Publisher, Mark Levine took you on a tour of some of the best Southern Eats across the island. We’ve compiled Mark’s talking points along with supporting pictures of some great BBQ spots that you should definitely visit.
One of the best Lobster Rolls that we have experienced on Long Island belongs to a worthy establishment in East Hampton; Bostwick’s Chowder House. It’s a gem on the South Fork and in these summer months, nothing is better than sitting outside in the sun and consuming one of the best around.
The east end is recovering from the crazy summer activity that revs up the weekend and nightlife activity. Now that it’s winter and the crowds are gone, the year-round residents can sit back and relax a bit, head out onto the open road and enjoy some of those finer restaurants that stay open throughout the slow season.
La Fondita, a favorite stop of ours just off the road in Amagansett is set to close for the winter this coming Sunday, October 23, 2011. A seasonal restaurant due to its outdoor dining areas, they usually serve their wintertime cuisine out of their sister-restaurant Townline BBQ just up the road. That’s not so this year.
Ahh, the Hamptons. The busy season is almost over and what better way to celebrate by moving on in. This week’s featured house for sale isn’t much of a house; it’s a compound. Let’s take a peek into this secluded 5BR/7BA Stratton Square offering.
Bostwicks Chowder House, located in East Hampton, is starting off the season right by including a few new menu items with their already great array of choices. The new items for the 2011 season are available Thursday – Sunday from 11:30am on.
