Pete’s Pitaria is one of those restaurants that has been around on Long Island forever. As the name would suggest, they have loads of pita breads that are served daily and with that, healthy skewered combinations with hummus and Greek salads are coming off the line daily.
MP Taverna in Roslyn is a rarity on Long Island. It’s helmed by owner/chef Michael Psilakis, a heavyweight in the international scene. He’s amassed a Michelin star, a James Beard Award nomination and he can be seen on various television series regularly airing (including Iron Chef). It’s a wonderful thing that he has planted MP Taverna, his take on a modern Greek bistro, right here in our own backyard.
Through our travels through Long Island’s culinary scene over the last 30+ years that we have lived here, one restaurant has always been there to satisfy the cravings of those looking for authentic Mediterranean cuisine; Mediterranean Snack Bar.
Mitchell’s Restaurant in Oceanside has a name that is steeped in history. Since 1938, the Mitchell’s brand has been alive on Long Island. There may be two restaurants of the same name (there is another location in Valley Stream that was sold a few years back, but still retains the name), but when you experience Mitchell’s for yourself, you may find that there’s nothing like it anywhere else.
