The Greene Turtle, a Maryland based sports bar and restaurant that opened in Franklin Square not too long ago is taking over the space that was formerly occupied by the long-standing Hooters in East Meadow. This new location will fit in perfectly with both the residential community and the nearby Hofstra University students (especially those that are of age to enjoy their Mug Club).
When Bottomz Up Bar & Grill abruptly closed their location in Carle Place (they have another location that is still open in Manhattan), we didn’t know what would happen with that large space. Now we know as the Manning’s Pub & Grill sign is up on the exterior facade and the Now Hiring sign adorns the windows. Poking our heads into the restaurant, we saw that crews were hard at work on the interior and the signage is up inside as well.
Food News: Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas To Open in May at Gallery at Westbury Plaza Shopping Center
Update on 5/21/14: The restaurant will be opening on May 27, 2014
Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas restaurant is now under construction with hopes to open up in May of this year. Located in the Gallery at Westbury Plaza shops on the Garden City / Westbury border, this new italian spot looks to be one of the nicer offerings in the shopping center thus far.
Bonefish Grill may be located in many great locales across the country, but they’ve yet to open an outpost on Long Island. This is all about to change as they’re under construction now in Rockville Centre at the location of the abandoned Rockville Centre Cinema on Sunrise.
The Greene Turtle, a Maryland based sports bar and restaurant that has been expanding with franchises across the country is setting its sights on Long Island with a soon-to-open spot on Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square. This spot is the location of the old Boulder Creek and it will be re-branded to meet the specifics of The Greene Turtle.
Inside the Holiday Inn on Old Country Road, construction has been going on for roughly 6 months on transforming their old restaurant into the newer restaurant/bar The Sporting News Grill.
Edit: Now Open for Business
Where the pet store Safari Stan’s once sat on Old Country Road, a new hotspot is getting ready to open. Now under construction and hiring waitresses and bartenders, Bottomz Up will likely be aligning themselves with the other nearby restaurants and bars that rely heavily on scantily clad servers (CANZaciti Roadhosue and Hooters, namely). Where they hope to step in front of their competition is the quality of their cuisine.
Fairway Market lovers can rejoice, as their beloved specialty supermarket will be opening up a second store on Long Island, to be located at the old Home Depot Expo spot in Westbury, which closed in 2009.
