Stopping into The Bulldog Grille in Amityville not too long ago we were surprised that they were no longer a part of the Lessing’s family of restaurants (they had just been sold), but that didn’t deter us from hopping up to the bar, taking in some football, beer, wings and sliders.
Sayville is a great area with a Main Street that really throws us back in time. Surrounded by all of the great restaurants and shops lining the street is the relative newcomer, Downtown Burger at Five Points Cafe. Since February, 2011, Downtown Burger has proven to be the go-to spot for those carnivorous cravings.
Patchogue, located on Suffolk County’s south shore holds a great mix of culinary delights. Walking, you’ll find a great selection of restaurants on Main Street and by car, you can navigate to some of the wonderful waterfront restaurants in the area. We’ve compiled what we think is a perfect culinary day in Patchogue; with lunch, dinner and drinks all accounted for.
Blue Point Brewery, one of Long Island’s better known and most popular microbrewers is set to tap the world’s largest cask as it hosts the 7th Annual Blue Point Cask Ale Festival on Saturday, April 9th, 2011 from 2pm – 6pm at their headquarters in Patchogue. For those unfamiliar with Cask Ale, it’s a reference to unfiltered and unpasteurized beer that is conditioned and served directly from a cask.
