The Oar Seafood Grille has been a Patchogue favorite for (almost) the last 30 years. Waterfront on the Patchogue River and with outdoor dining, all one has to do is enter the restaurant and look up at the ceiling to know that they are about to encounter some wonderful seafood. Oars and paddles line the restaurant and make you just want to jump into a boat and start paddling.
Being a great seafood restaurant would be enough for most establishments, but being one of the largest seafood markets in the area as well is taking Southside Fish and Clam to another level. The abundance of seafood pouring through these doors daily is helping to keep prices low and quality way up.
For the past six years, Nonnina Italian Bistro in West Islip has been catering to an upscale, mostly local clientele with its excellent dinner service. It’s an upscale atmosphere, complete with a lounge area with fireplace, bi-level dining and a romantic and dark mood. We hopped into the kitchen to photograph some of their dishes as they were coming off of the line.

With Rare 650 in Syosset, Insignia in Smithtown and Blackstone Steakhouse in Melville, they’re a staple of the power-crowd.
Northport is a wonderful village on the north shore of Suffolk County. The waterfront Main Street is a great spot to wander around both in the warmer weather and also when it’s a bit cooler and not as crowded.
