Quick Stop: Aperitif Bistro Lounge & Wine Bar
We’ve been to their sister-restaurant, Sage Bistro in Bellmore, so we wanted to let you know about owners Peter Oktas and Executive Chef Julio Velasquez’s latest south shore French collaboration, Aperitif Bistro Lounge & Wine Bar in Rockville Centre.
Rockville Centre is to the south shore like Huntington is to the north shore. A large selection of restaurants for such a small geographic area, the restaurants here better perform up to or above expectations, because one that doesn’t will surely shutter its doors in no time. Diners even have the ability here to walk from restaurant to restaurant to find something that interests them, since it is such a small area, so everything has to be spectacular. Something tells us that Aperitif will be around for a long time to come.
The interior may remind you of a classic French brasserie (with the familiar reds and whites) and the pictures of the Eiffel Tower and other French landmarks on the walls. The menu focuses on French recipes with a Mediterranean and Asian tilt. You can also dine at the bar with dishes that range in price from $5 – $12 and include hummus with seafood trio with scallop, shrimp and octopus; lamb sausages with puff pastry and Dijon sauce and more.
Besides the restaurant, they’ve got a great Happy Hour, Monday – Friday just after work from 5pm – 6:30pm where you can get $5 martinis and half-priced wines by the glass.
