Quick In & Out: Noah’s in Greenport
When we first met Chef Noah Schwartz he was at the helm of Seafood Barge in Southold way back in 2007(ish). Not too long after our first meeting at that location, they closed up shop and Noah decided to head out on his own. A few miles away in Greenport, the old Frisky Oyster bar location was opening up, so due to the collision of events, Noah decided to open up Noah’s in the heart of Greenport, on Front Street.
The scene really heats up in the summer season for Greenport, but even during our visit in sleepy winter Noah’s was doing quite well. Noah’s is one of the better known restaurants in the area and Chef Noah Schwartz has quickly been known as the go-to chef for special dinners and events. The restaurant, in spring, is open Monday and Thursday nights for dinner only. Lunch service is also served on Friday – Sunday (brunch is available on the weekends). They are completely closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays. This schedule may change in the coming months once the summer season is upon us.
The current menu is split between a small plates and large plates menu with a heavy emphasis on seafood (raw bar and cooked). The night that we were visiting the restaurant Noah’s was hosting a wine dinner with local vineyards both in attendance and on display. The commitment to the east end and to the other businesses that are thriving there is apparent and more than welcome.
