Kodiak’s Restaurant and Bar in Farmingdale

Where do you go when you want to sit down with a bunch of friends, order a slew of appetizers and drinks, zone out and watch the game? There might be a lot of restaurants and bars that could fit this description, but what if you wanted to watch almost every game that was on tv? To seek your answer, we headed to Kodiak’s Restaurant and Bar in Farmingdale to not only check out their new digs, but to find out if all of your needs could be met.

Barely open for a year, Kodiak’s puts the Sports in “Sports Bar”. Countless televisions adorning the wall, with none smaller than at least a 42″ flatscreen (and going up to humongous), will enable you and all of your friends to sit down and enjoy whatever game you like. Keep turning your head around and you’ll encounter another tv set with your game/sport of choice.

Sports isn’t the only thing happening at Kodiak’s. There are multiple bars set up within the establishment to maintain that you are always able to get that next drink with minimal effort and wait. There are daily drink specials, too, with Margaritas and Mojitos coming your way in fanciful and fruitful combinations. You can order by the glass or by the pitcher, so the best option (if you’re not drinking alone) is to share with a few friends and spend on the larger size. There’s a weekly Happy Hour (M-F from 4pm-7pm) and a nightly Happy Hour from 10pm – Midnight.

The cuisine at Kodiak’s is above par as well. On our trip we sampled the grilled wings (which are actually grilled, baked, then basted prior to service), their loaded nachos and hamburger, which unlike most restaurants, actually mixed the cheese into the meat in order to have a consistently cheesy consistency.

We’ve been to Kodiak’s two separate occasions; once during the quieter start to lunch and the other time during a busy Saturday night. The service was consistent, the televisions were great and the Mojito special of the night (Watermelon) had us rocking into the wee-hours of the morning.

Kodiak’s has earned 3 out of 4 “MMMMMS”
