As a way to entice sushi lovers to come in and try out the new space, Massago in Oceanside is offering 1/2 price sushi as a celebration of their grand opening. They’ve replaced La Szechuan’s chinese restaurant with a beautifully decorated sushi spot.

Just opened in the past month or so, we made two separate trips to Masago in the past week. The first, we didn’t realize about the half-priced sushi deal until it was time to pay the bill, so the choices of rolls that we ordered were pretty conventional and cost-conscious. We had to head back for some of their specialty rolls again and we stuffed our face with a large variety of fresh fill and cooked rolls.

Not all of the choices are 50% off. The cooked entrees are 30% off at dinner and are 15% off at lunch. The half-off promotion will certainly get you hooked on the fancier special rolls and they’ll be hard to quit once they go back up to the normal price of $12-$16 per roll. For now, though, we’ll be hitting up Masago whenever we can and basking in their affordable seafood.
