In Photos: Swirlz World in Merrick
Being that it’s the summertime, we’ve covered a lot of dessert spots, and more specifically, frozen yogurt spots. Swirlz World is new to the area, having just opened their doors within the past six weeks. This is a self-serve yogurt hotspot and one thing that they have that most others don’t is a huge selection of pick-your-own candy.
As with any self-serve yogurt store, you pick your size cup, pour your own yogurt, top with your favorite items (sugary, fruit, or other) and pay by weight. If you don’t keep an eye on your pouring, you can find yourself paying more than $10 for dessert, but for those who want to try a few different flavors and toppings combinations, this is the perfect place to experiment.
There are few tables and seats at Swirlz World and on the weekend nights, especially, it gets extremely crowded, so you may want to get it to go if you are in the neighborhood. All other times are manageable and the light and bright decor is certainly relaxing enough. The true test for Swirlz World will come in the winter time when things calm down a bit in the frozen dessert genre. Based on previous experience, we think that we’ll still continue to visit take home some sweet candy and maybe a bit of yogurt as well.
