Kontokosta Winery, a new addition to the North Fork’s great wineries, is a wonderful winery in a magnificent building. It’s steps away from the Sound and when you’ve ordered a glass or a bottle after your tasting, you can make your way to the picnic benches and Adirondack chairs that sit overlooking the Sound and take in the view.
Nothing says summertime like dining waterfront on a beautiful day in the Hamptons. Surrounded by open water and the boats that are docked at the marina, Oakland’s Restaurant & Marina is one great spot on Long Island to catch a sunset and enjoy either a drink or a meal (or both!) We’ve compiled some great photographs to showcase both the wonderful setting and the first-class American cuisine.
When Freeport, along with the rest of the island, was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, the damage caused to Hudson & McCoy was enough to set into motion a chain of events that led to Hudson & McCoy to be evicted and a new tenant to come to the table. Enter Hudson’s on the Mile.
PRIME American Kitchen and Bar in Huntington is one of those restaurants on Long Island that not only has that “wow” factor, but it also lives up to the hype with their wonderful cuisine served with a side of an even better view.
With summer season in the Hamptons out in full swing now, Montauk is not only “The End”, but it is quickly becoming a culinary destination all of its own. Inlet Seafood Restaurant is just one of many hot spots out on the east end, and for us, it’s one of the best that we have yet encountered.
Is Amy, of Crabby Amy’s, really that Crabby? We’ve met her in the flesh and we can thankfully report that she was actually really nice, and not as Crabby as her restaurant’s name would leave you to believe.
Peter’s Clam Bar is such an institution on the south shore of Long Island (and very much taken for granted that it will always be there) that like the Statue of Liberty, we always pass it, but never visit. That changed last week when we stopped by for a Friday night dinner. We arrived to live music, calm water and affordable seafood. We left satisfied and vowing to return.
Butler’s Flat, a brand new clam bar will be previewing this weekend at its brand new location, located in the Brewer Capri West Marina in Port Washington.
The Patio, which burst onto the scene last year and catered to those Long Islanders who love to eat and drink on the water, is reopening for the season this Thursday, April 12th. Located in the Freeport Inn and Marine, the restaurant and bar features an outdoor lounge area, a bar that opens its doors to the outside and a great food menu that will be sure to be even more popular this year as more people learn about it.
Just because the winter weather is arriving doesn’t mean that you have to leave that summertime feeling behind. Harbor Crab Co. in Patchogue is a waterfront restaurant / bar that strives to keep that season going all year long; and from what we’ve experienced, they’re succeeding.
