We know that summer is arriving and things are kicking into high gear because South Edison, located way out east in Montauk, just off Montauk Highway, is now officially open for the 2012 season.
Throughout our recent travels in Medford, we were surprised to see that the very popular First National Franks, on 112, had changed to a new hot dog spot, Hot Diggity Dogs.
Where the pet store Safari Stan’s once sat on Old Country Road, a new hotspot is getting ready to open. Now under construction and hiring waitresses and bartenders, Bottomz Up will likely be aligning themselves with the other nearby restaurants and bars that rely heavily on scantily clad servers (CANZaciti Roadhosue and Hooters, namely). Where they hope to step in front of their competition is the quality of their cuisine.
The Patio, which burst onto the scene last year and catered to those Long Islanders who love to eat and drink on the water, is reopening for the season this Thursday, April 12th. Located in the Freeport Inn and Marine, the restaurant and bar features an outdoor lounge area, a bar that opens its doors to the outside and a great food menu that will be sure to be even more popular this year as more people learn about it.
5,400 square feet of Asian cuisine await at Ginza, one of the newest hot spots to open up on the south shore this year. The redesigned space, formerly a Sizzler Steakhouse in Massapequa, is a trendy haven for sushi lovers and interior design lovers alike.
The locks are changed, the paper is up on the windows and a coming soon poster hangs for Attilio’s Grill at this recently closed restaurant on Rte. 25A. Bella Vita City Grill, which had sat at that location for quite some time is soon to open anew as a different restaurant.
It’s been quite the year for La Bottega in Merrick. They went from having one store, to taking over their next door neighbor and expanding to completely closing within the span of a few months. Well, now we have a better idea of what is happening over at that street-level spot.
We can now welcome Joe’s Crab Shack to Long Island, with their newest location opening up now on the south shore of Nassau County, in Oceanside.
Energy Kitchen, the healthy fast food establishment is making its way out to Long Island from its New York City roots this week. Of four locations planned on the island, Syosset will be the first to throw open their doors.
