For years, Margarita’s Cafe in East Meadow (in the East Meadow Bowl shopping center) has been a staple of our dining experiences. Many people who live within a 5-10 minute range of this restaurant / bar don’t know that it is there, and that’s not such a bad thing. On weekend nights the wait for a table can top an hour; but at least the great bar is there to pop out an endless supply of margaritas and other drinks while you wait.
Sunday Brunch has always been one of our favorite meals. We’re constantly on the lookout for brunch spots that we feel confident enough to share with our readers and our friends. With that in mind, we stopped by Thyme in Roslyn, overlooking Roslyn Pond, to enjoy their decor and their cuisine.
H2O Seafood Grill in Smithtown is just one of many restaurants on Long Island owned and operated by the Bohlsen Restaurant Group, one of the premier groups in the area. Focusing on fresh seafood dishes in a wonderful atmosphere, H2O is doing for the north shore what Tellers and Monsoon are doing on the south shore.
With football season nearing its kickoff, we’ve been wondering where to hunker down on game days while in the vicinity of Huntington. With Rookies Sports Club we’ve found our spot.
Nothing says summertime like dining waterfront on a beautiful day in the Hamptons. Surrounded by open water and the boats that are docked at the marina, Oakland’s Restaurant & Marina is one great spot on Long Island to catch a sunset and enjoy either a drink or a meal (or both!) We’ve compiled some great photographs to showcase both the wonderful setting and the first-class American cuisine.
When Freeport, along with the rest of the island, was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, the damage caused to Hudson & McCoy was enough to set into motion a chain of events that led to Hudson & McCoy to be evicted and a new tenant to come to the table. Enter Hudson’s on the Mile.
MP Taverna in Roslyn is a rarity on Long Island. It’s helmed by owner/chef Michael Psilakis, a heavyweight in the international scene. He’s amassed a Michelin star, a James Beard Award nomination and he can be seen on various television series regularly airing (including Iron Chef). It’s a wonderful thing that he has planted MP Taverna, his take on a modern Greek bistro, right here in our own backyard.
While we didn’t see any food during our visit to Ruvo in Port Jefferson, we still wanted to take our readers on an exterior and interior tour of this revered italian eatery on the north shore. Located almost waterfront, Ruvo is an italian eatery curated by the same ownership as their other location in Greenlawn, La Tavola in Sayville and Del Fuego in St. James. The open atrium, bright colors and bar area certainly holds the key to any type of dining experience.
St. James is our favorite dining destination on the island for one reason; it’s a small hamlet located in the Town of Smithtown, but in its tiny footprint lays a veritable treasure trove of amazing restaurants in every price range. This is worth a day trip to experience the variety of cuisines as well as the talented chefs that are carving their way through Suffolk. We’ve hit up a few of our favorites to show our readers what lies in waiting for you once you make the trip out.
For those of us who have been patiently waiting for the new Buffalo Wild Wings in Westbury to open, our wait is coming to a close. Occupying the space that previously held Mirage Nightclub and then most recently GLO, this new Buffalo Wild Wings is going to be massive and probably won’t disappoint, when they open on March 16th.
