Great Neck’s new Bareburger is the first (but not the last) Long Island location of the popular restaurant that can be found throughout the NYC Metro area. Focusing on organic and quality ingredients, this new restaurant, located in an old retail store, is expanding the options on Middle Neck Road.
When Relish opened roughly two years ago in Kings Park, on Suffolk County’s north shore, owner / chef Stephen Cardello (formerly the chef at Grey Horse Tavern in Bayport) probably couldn’t have imagined its success and popularity with local foodies. Their weekend breakfast has been creating plenty of buzz in local circles and helping their cause is their location; on the corner of Main Street and also close to many of their suppliers. This has led to creative, fresh and seasonal fare.
Although Grillfire in Merrick may be known most for their excellent hamburgers (their own special blend, mixed for them by Main Street Meats), they also have a great Sunday brunch experience. Over the years we have frequented this popular spot, conveniently located on Sunrise Highway, to wind down the weekend and usher in the day of rest.
Smashburger, one of a handful of burger chains that have been steadily popping up all over the island is set to open up its newest island location in New Hyde Park, on Friday, October 18, 2013.
Krisch’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor in Massapequa is not only a wildly popular restaurant on Long Island, but it is one that is steeped in history; one of the last remaining old-school ice cream shops around.
For our last regular segment on the wildly popular Restaurant Hunter on FiOS1 Long Island it was fitting that we sat down at Big Daddy’s in Massapequa Park for our proper send-off. With a New Orleans festive atmosphere we were able to enjoy the cuisine for this going away party.
Nicholas James Bistro has been serving the Merrick community since 1996 when chef Keith Lubov, along with his father, Charles, purchased the restaurant. With specials that change daily, the restaurant doubles as both your standard restaurant and a catering operation, serving corporate clients and events in the local area.
Bonefish Grill may be located in many great locales across the country, but they’ve yet to open an outpost on Long Island. This is all about to change as they’re under construction now in Rockville Centre at the location of the abandoned Rockville Centre Cinema on Sunrise.
Michael Turner and Brian Shuren oversee all aspects of the operation at Bistro 25, a casual and refined bistro located in Sayville, on Long Island’s south shore. With an interior on the smaller side, the bistro packs as much flavor and creativeness into its dishes as they do diners on any weekend night. We hit them up on a quiet weekday at lunchtime to take in the vibe and capture the essence of their culinary magic.
Sunday Brunch has always been one of our favorite meals. We’re constantly on the lookout for brunch spots that we feel confident enough to share with our readers and our friends. With that in mind, we stopped by Thyme in Roslyn, overlooking Roslyn Pond, to enjoy their decor and their cuisine.
