Sponsored Post: JW’s Public House in Glen Head
JW’s Public House, a relative newcomer to Long Island’s north shore, in Glen Head, is crafting something special in their corner of the world (or at least their corner on Glen Head Road). Offering a restaurant / bar atmosphere with a menu focused on providing some of the freshest seafood available, there are plenty of options here for diners to revel in.
An outdoor patio and bar area is the perfect spot to enjoy these hot summer days. Large umbrellas cover all of the tables to provide a bit of shade on otherwise sunny days. Inside, there are two areas to dine in, a more private side dining room and the dining room that extends past the bar (where you can dine as well). Either way you choose to dine, the experience should be a wonderful one.
On our visit to JW’s we were treated to a sampling of a few dishes prepared by Executive Chef Steve Demetriou. Cold options include fresh clams, east and west coast oysters and their fresh steamers are shareable options for diners. On the cooked side, the Caribbean Salmon, served with grilled asparagus and a potato rosti in a mango vinaigrette was expertly prepared; bursting with flavor and as fresh as could be.
For “land-locked” diners who may not prefer to have seafood there are standard choices on the menu. The “filet” style strip steak, topped with butter and a side of wedge potato fries rivals any other restaurant or steakhouse on the island. They also offer Roasted French Chicken Breast, 48-hour Marinated Cajun Ribeye and an Angus Beef Burger on the menu, in addition to the filet. Diners should make sure to leave room for one of JW’s Public House desserts, specifically what will be turning into a future Long Island legend, their Key Lime Pie. As good as anything we’ve tasted in the Florida Keys, other restaurants will have a hard time beating this slice of heaven.
Open daily for dinner from 4pm – 10pm (11pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sunday)
