Photo Tour: Chas. Rothmann’s Steakhouse in East Norwich

Chas. Rothmann’s in East Norwich is known for being one of the best steakhouses on Long Island. Located on the picturesque North Shore, we’ve been heading there for our large family dinners for the better part of the last ten years, so this is a perfect time to share it with our reading audience.

When the steakhouse officially opened in August of 1907, Long Island looked a lot different than it does today. It was perfectly situated on the Gold Coast of Long Island and was in a prime location for some of the wealthiest families in the country (this still holds true). The building that it sits in dates back to 1820 and has been in operation since.

Like any great steakhouse, they’re known for what they serve. The steaks are all exceptional, and even the non-steak items are great. If you want to feel like royalty, order the Reserve Porterhouse for two. They serve brunch on Sundays from 11am – 2pm and dinner every day.

A restaurant with this much history doesn’t exist in too many corners of this island, so if you have a chance to visit this north shore classic, we can tell you that you’ll probably enjoy your meal as much as we have over many years.
