Maureen’s Kitchen in Smithtown

Maureen’s Kitchen in Smithtown

Whether you view Maureen’s Kitchen as a gimmicky / eccentric morning spot or one of your favorite restaurants around, one thing is for sure; they’re not going anywhere, any time soon. We note the eccentricity as a result of the hundres of cows inside and outside of the restaurant. You can’t miss them from the road, sitting there besides the sign. Once you step inside, black and white spots are everywhere and you may leave feeling like a dairy farmer who is escaping from the dairy.

As is true with most popular breakfast spots on Long Island, getting to the restaurant past 8am will result in a long wait. We can’t stress enough how important it is to get there as early as you can to beat the rush, otherwise you’re going to be feeling pretty famished by the time that you do actually sit down.

This local legend is serving up pancakes, french toast, stuffed croissants (see the picture at the bottom) and other breakfast favorites. You’d better not be watching your calories or your waistline when you visit because no caloric expense is spared.

If you’re on the fence deciding whether or not this restaurant is gimmicky or the real deal, we only have one word of advice; go. Hit it up, order up their stuffed croissant and then you let us know. We’ll be back, so maybe you’ll run into us!
