Although a nationally recognized franchise, Kilwins in Babylon is the only one of its kind in the area, so for our purposes, we’ll consider it to be a local product worthy of an overview. Specializing in all things sweet; fudge, ice cream, candy, etc., this is our Suffolk County go-to spot when that sweet tooth is yearning for something, well, sweet.

Although opened in April of 2012 in Babylon, stepping into Kilwins is like stepping back into the 1950’s, it’s all about friendly service, smiles and sweets. Owner John Murray is always on site, making things fresh daily. When we visited we were watching him make fresh waffle cones for ice cream. John actually comes from quite the Long Island restaurant family; his dad owns Mulcahy’s in Wantagh and his family is spread throughout other restaurants on the island. Kilwins is mostly known for their fudge; made fresh on their marble slab. You can watch as they make it, then take it home with you for the freshest experience. Peanut Butter and their Signature Turtle are the two most popular flavors that they sell.
