Focus On: The Great Neck Dining Scene
Great Neck is filled with culinary delights for every budget. While it may be an expensive town to live and play in, it doesn’t always have to be so expensive to eat (although it can be that, too). We’ve compiled a few restaurants that we’ve spoken about on FiOS1 Long Island’s Restaurant Hunter for our readers to check out and enjoy.

The Seminal Steakhouse
You don’t have a successful restaurant for 125 years on a fluke, and Peter Luger, with its Long Island location is no different. Celebrating quality first, the original location in Brooklyn is a hallmark of American dining. Their north shore spot holds many of the same virtues that made them famous; USDA Prime Dry Aged Steaks, a select menu and cash only – DEBIT CARD, CHECKS OR CASH (save for the “Peter Luger Credit Card”). Powerbrokers and high-level businesspeople all know where to go for important lunches and dinners, and chances are, you’ll be following them here.

The Organic Pre-Train Stop
With a menu that is both organic and locally sourced (when items are available), this juice bar / (vegetarian) cafe / tea house is proving that you can be both simple and delicious at the same time. Meals are prepared fresh daily and their water is filtered by reverse osmosis; a process that will certainly set them apart from the rest of the crowd. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served daily, so no matter what time of day an organic meal may strike your fancy, you can rest assured that they’ll have one waiting for you.

All You Can Eat Sushi Spot
At Sushi Palace in Great Neck the “All You Can Eat” doesn’t mean circling around a cold or hot buffet and taking what may or may not have been sitting around for hours. It’s a whole lot better than that. You sit down at your table and if you choose to eat off of the $19.95 unlimited sushi menu, you’re presented with an order form where the sushi chefs will make what you want on the spot. This isn’t pre-made and it’s not pre-planned. If you’re in the mood for it, order it and it will arrive within a few minutes time. Happen to live a little further out east? You’ll want to try their sister-location, Sushi Time 560 in Bethpage.
