Focus On: Melville Dining Hot Spots

Melville was the focus of this week’s Restaurant Hunter on FiOS1 Long Island. Host Rob Petrone along with East of NYC’s very own Mark Levine took to the streets to bring you along to some hotspots in the area. Click on through to learn about some hot spots as well as an East of NYC bonus that wasn’t on-air.

The Blue Chip Steakhouse

Blackstone Exterior

Power lunches and dinners all seem to occur at Blackstone’s, one of local restaurateur Anthony Scotto’s “brainchild’s” on Long Island. This steakhouse, which also features a sushi bar, has been known as one of the hot spots to get serious about business while experiencing an exceptional meal as well. Beyond the food, their wine list is one of the best and has received numerous awards over the years. If we want to get a little pricy (as well as tasty) during our visit, we’ll hit up a kobe beef appetizer that you can cook to your liking yourself on the provided hot rock

The Seasonal Cocktail Lounge

FOUR Exterior

At FOUR Food, seasonal doesn’t just mean the ingredients in the cuisine, but also dictates the interior design and decor of the restaurant / bar. The restaurant is broken down into four sections on the interior; each representing a different season of the year. Winter white and autumn orange are just two of the areas. The bar area, especially, is a hotbed of activity after work lets out with both singles and professionals mulling about. The modern American cuisine could be pricy, but is one of the best, and most innovative, on the island.

Bonus tip: Look forward to that pink cotton candy at the end of the meal.

East of NYC Bonus: The Italian Favorite

La Piazza Melville

La Piazza has a healthy following with residents of both Merrick and Plainview in Nassau County so when they were opening their first Suffolk County location back in 2011, you can imagine that residents of the area and those who work on the busy corridor were pretty excited. Trendier and more of a “sit-down” restaurant than their other locations, this Melville spot has done away with the pizza counter and is a more refined italian experience. If you still want to indulge in pizza, they’re not leaving you in the cold. Their Brick Oven Pizzettes are available for you. What would a visit to La Piazza be without pizza, anyway?
