Crabby Amy’s in Seaford

Crabby Amy’s in Seaford

Is Amy, of Crabby Amy’s, really that Crabby? We’ve met her in the flesh and we can thankfully report that she was actually really nice, and not as Crabby as her restaurant’s name would leave you to believe.

Located among the boats in the Treasure Island Marina in deep-south Seaford, Crabby Amy’s is unique in more than one way. It’s one of the only (if not the only) waterfront spots that is open for breakfast-time cuisine, but it’s also open all day long. If you’re lucky enough to have a boat, you can come on in to shore and dock your boat while you eat, or if you’re like us and dwell on the land full time, you can weave through the residential streets just to the north and park in the marina.

There are adult beverages available at Crabby Amy’s. We were happy to see a tap marked off for Fire Island Beer, a local beer company that East of NYC knows quite well. We are always big fans of keeping it as local as we can get it and love to see restaurants share the same opinion.

Of all the seafood available for this meal, we were in the mood for something quick and fried, avoiding our diet for the day (it’s for research….really). The popcorn shrimp was served to us with french fries, lemon and cocktail sauce. Starting off on the outside deck area with its high tables, we were forced to make our way inside under the main roof when the rain started to come down a little heavier. Since it was a rainier day, the crowds were kept away and we were able to enjoy our meal in relative quiet.

We’ve gone over the pros of dining on the water before (we do live on an island, after all) and this casual waterfront joint is what we look for when we want to wander in with flip flops and a big appetite. We’ll be back, but hopefully we can convince a friend with a boat to take us in there the proper way.
